Raggamuffin

Raggamuffin

The Rotorua District Council and Raggamuffin Music Festival promoter Andrew McManus have reached an amicable agreement to end their eight-year relationship.

Council spokesman Mark Rawson said both parties acknowledged their collaboration had run its natural course. The agreement between the council and Mr McManus would have seen one more Raggamuffin staged in Rotorua in 2015.

However, failing attendances and event revenue meant that was no longer viable, Mr Rawson said.

While details were commercially sensitive and subject to confidentiality between the parties, the promoter would not be staging Raggamuffin in Rotorua in February 2015.

Mr McManus owed the council $132,000 after confirming the event would not return to Rotorua in July.

Mr Rawson said the council was satisfied with the outcome, as it allowed both parties to move on.

Mr McManus said he would launch Raggamuffin VII, a rebranded event with a fresh urban format in Auckland early next year.
