Rotorua's Quota branch annual Spring into Summer fashion show which raises money for the Rotorua branch of Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ.

More than 200 people have given their time and money to a good cause at the Quota Rotorua annual Spring into Summer fashion show.

The show, now in its 15th year, was held at the weekend to raise money for the Rotorua branch of Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.

Quota is a non-profit organisation for women who want to make a positive contribution to the community.

The annual Spring into Summer fashion show is one of the Rotorua branch's biggest fundraisers of the year, member Robyn Ward said.

"We raised $6000 last year and this year people have been very generous. We have a goal of raising as much as we can.

"The money is used for when families are first diagnosed and they need money for support to get to appointments."

Ward said the group would find out how much was raised in the next few days but they anticipated it would be the same "or hopefully more" than last year.

The show was held at the Holiday Inn and showcased the spring collection from Parrots on Hinemoa. There was also entertainment from a Filipino cultural club and Evelyn Falconer.

Ward said everyone involved in the show had donated their time and many Rotorua businesses had donated raffle items.

Leukaemia and Blood Cancer Support Service co-ordinator for the Midland region Matthew Eby spoke at the event, as did Robyn Towersey who had been diagnosed with leukaemia.

Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand is the only not-for-profit organisation in New Zealand dedicated solely to the care and cure of people living with blood cancers and blood conditions.

It provides patient support, information and advocacy, awareness and research.
