At 11am, Gough said most properties were expected to have power restored within 30 minutes.
"Unfortunately the pole that was taken out is quite a critical piece of kit so we haven't been able to restore power quickly.

"Our team are installing temporary switches so power should be back on for most of the properties in 30 minutes. The properties in the immediate vicinity of the pole will not be back on until about 2pm," Gough said.
He said this took time and safety was the overriding factor.
