The following incidents were reported to Rotorua police during the past few days:
Stolen vehicles
The following vehicles were stolen from Rotorua during the past week and a half.
A grey 2017 Holden Captiva car registered KJE323 was stolen on July 20, a silver 2013 tandem trailer registered W372T was stolen on July 17 and a grey 1992 Toyota Hilux registered XX9122 was stolen on July 14.
If you know who has these vehicles, contact police immediately.
Back to school
Motorists are being warned to be on the lookout for school children who are back at school for term three.
Sergeant Pauline Jones, of the Rotorua police, said residents should be on the lookout for children crossing the roads as well as more cyclists.
"For secondary school students, make sure they are driving to their conditions and not carrying passengers when they are on their restricted licences. Motorists need to also slow down around schools."
She reminded drivers they would be fined if they drove more than 4km/h over speed limits outside schools or passed stationary school buses in either direction doing more than 20km/h.
Burglary prevention
Burglars seem to be targeting homes in Glenholme and Western Heights in recent weeks.
However, some of these burglaries could be prevented with Mrs Jones saying police were still finding many of the homes broken into were unlocked.
"It's timely to remind people to keep garage doors and vehicles locked."
