Police have named the pedestrian killed on State Highway 1 near Tokoroa on Tuesday.
He was Robert Charles Farrar, 20, of Tokoroa.
Mr Farrar died after he was hit by a truck between Rolletts and Tamatea Rds.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the matter has been referred to the coroner.
