A police chase which started in Rotorua has been abandoned because of safety reasons.
A police spokeswoman said police initiated a pursuit after a vehicle failed to stop on Malfroy Rd about 10.45am.
Due to safety reasons the pursuit was abandoned shortly after on State Highway 5 in Tumunui south
of Rotorua, she said.
Police were following "positive lines of inquiry".
