A police car has been rammed in Western Heights this morning, according to a witness.

A woman who lives near the scene on Upland Rd said she and her son heard a loud crashing sound about 10.45am today.

"The car backed into the police car about four times.

"My son heard a crash and I came out, it had already happened."

The woman, who did not want to be named, said her son had seen at least one person in a car blocked in a driveway by police.

The person then rammed the police car before driving off, she said.

"The police had blocked them in the driveway. They tried to get away and they rammed the car and just drove off," she said.

The woman said a young woman was left at the scene.
