Rotorua people are encouraged to enjoy a good old fashioned family day out for a good cause tomorrow.

Road to Recovery - Angels for Valencia Fundraiser is being held at Owhata Primary School from 10am to 2pm to raise money for Valencia Davies.

Valencia, a 9-year-old Owhata Primary School pupil, was struck down with painful skin condition SJS (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome) at the start of this month.

Organiser Eleanor Mahaki said they hoped plenty of people would head along and support Valencia and her family.

"It's about helped them to get back on their feet."

Mrs Mahaki said she hoped the live music by band Natrule Konexzion would be a draw card and help to create atmosphere and ambiance.

She said there were lots of family-oriented activities such as a bouncy castle, face and nail painting, games and fitness activities, quick fire raffles, a White Elephant, donation boxes, food stalls, fry bread burgers, a sausage sizzle, a cake stall and Angels for Valencia for sale.

"It's basic, old school, family fun."

The Angels for Valencia are handmade angels made by one of the women who cares for two of Valencia's siblings.

Mrs Mahaki said the event was being put together by the school, Owhata Friends of the School and EBabies Early Learning Centre.

She said all proceeds from the day would go to Valencia's family.
