A person has been hit by a car on Fairy Springs Rd and taken to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.

Police were called to the crash, at the intersection of Fairy Springs Rd and Old Quarry Rd, at 2.56pm.

A St John media spokeswoman said an ambulance was sent to the scene and one person was treated for moderate injuries.

They have been taken to Rotorua Hospital.
