A person was trapped after their car rolled on the Desert Rd this morning.

A police spokeswoman said a female was taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries

Earlier State Highway 1 between Paradise Valley Rd and Waipakihi Rd had been partially blocked and traffic control was in place.

The road was now clear and taffic flowing.

The police spokeswoman said a call for assistance was received at 10.26am and police, fire, ambulance, and army personnel had attended the scene about 5km north of the summit.
