A front is expected to stay slow-moving about East Cape and Bay of Plenty through to Monday.

A MetService release states a low is forecast to move slowly southwestwards over Coromandel Peninsula this afternoon or evening, then weaken away during Monday.

The front and low are expected to deliver further periods of rain to Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne, with heavy falls at times.

Rainfall accumulations are no longer expected to reach warning criteria about Bay of Plenty from Opotiki westwards, but a watch will be maintained.

People are advised to keep up to date with forecasts in case other areas are added to the warning.
