You should be using Facebook and Twitter more while you are at work." Not the words that most bosses would be saying to their employees, but these were said to me late last year as social media is now a pretty important way for us radio types to interact and engage with our listeners.

I've only been a bit player on social media over the past couple of years, largely using it to know what people are talking about so I can be on the same wavelength, but here we are now in 2015, so I've actually made it one of my New Year's resolutions! Spend more time on Facebook and Twitter at work, which will also no doubt turn into more activity outside work.

I'm not normally all that flash at sticking to these resolutions, but just perhaps this year I might be able to stick it out. I've started pretty well, dipped my toes in with a few 'status updates', grabbed a few 'likes, shares and follows' ... sounds like I know what I'm talking about aye?

Five days into the new year, how are you going with your New Year's resolutions? Perhaps you can let me know via my "timeline" ... help me out!

How does this sound for an idea? If you are driving on the open road and you end up with a trail of more than half a dozen cars behind you, you must pull over to let them past?

I've worked out that over the past couple of weeks I have travelled about 3000km on the roads, and overall I don't think the standard of driving has been too bad. Yes there are a few idiots out there, but by far some of the most dangerous situations I have seen are drivers crawling along at 70-80 in a 100km/h zone in perfect driving conditions. Then they get to a straight and speed up to 100 so no one can actually make a safe overtaking manoeuvre, and everybody just gets a but frustrated.

If you are driving at these slow speeds, you're obviously not in a hurry to get anywhere, so pull over and let others past!

You know what is special about 2015? It is Back To The Future year!

One of my favourite movie franchises, the second of the Michael J Fox flicks gave us our first look at 2015 when Doc took Marty 30 years into the future.

Back in 1989 when the movie came out, 2015 seemed so far away - but now here we are.

Hoverboards, flying cars, floating road signs, self-lacing sneakers and of course Jaws 19 were some of the predictions.

Sadly most of these are wrong; although they still have until October 21 to make it all happen.

It's highly unlikely - might just need to watch the DVD again.
