Acre Pc's Derrick Ryan and his partner, Rachel Oliver, with Sarah and Nigel Rice at the NZ Reseller ICT Awards.

Tauranga IT firm Acre Pc has picked up the The Reseller News ICT Industry Award for the country's top computer company for service to small businesses.

Management team, Nigel and Sarah Rice and Derrick Ryan accepted the award at a ceremony last week in Auckland.

The award recognises excellence in service and knowledge in an IT business delivering services to companies with up to 50 people.

Ms Rice said the team had hoped to make the final cut in the competition but winning the award was the icing on the cake for the company, which has experienced rapid growth in the technology sector.

Acre Pc covers a wide range of businesses.

The company has expanded from building websites to providing cloud-based services, as well as into developing online shopping sites and tailored network systems for larger firms.

The award citation described Acre Pc as a real Kiwi success story.

"Acre Pc specialises in cloud, technology, phone and website solutions, excelling in Office 365 and Google Apps, as well as the buying and leasing of IT technology."

Ms Rice said the company's ability to grow and keep up with the fluid state of IT had been thanks to the company's committed and passionate team.

She noted the appointment of Derrick Ryan to the management team three years ago for helping the business tap into the rapid demand for fibre optic connectivity, for both data and company phone networks.

"As a group we are really committed to making things happen for our clients," she said.

"It is a real kick for us to be able to employ that technology for our clients and see how it benefits their businesses and their lives."
