It has been great to see so many residents and businesses getting behind their fellow members of the community who need a helping hand to make this festive season a special one.
The Rotorua Daily Post Christmas Appeal has been running since November 11.
This year's Christmas Appeal, run withthe Rotorua Weekender and The Hits 97.5, is collecting non-perishable food and cash donations for the Salvation Army foodbank.
The Rotorua Daily Post office itself is one of the places you can drop off food or items.
Already, eight shopping bags have been taken back to the foodbank by the Salvation Army which has been great.
However, the office donations have been a bit slower than last year, so if you able to give contribute an item or two then come on in and our lovely reception staff will point you in the direction of the donation boxes.
This year alone the Rotorua Salvation Army foodbank has helped more than 700 individuals and families with nearly 1000 food parcels.
It is such an awesome feeling knowing that you may have contributed to making someone else's Christmas special and one to remember.

I'm working on putting together a little pack to donate myself, and I got some great ideas and inspiration when I had a peek at what was currently in our boxes this week.
Last year the appeal raised $55,562.10 in food and cash donations.
The Salvation Army has a goal to provide 200 families with Christmas hampers this year -70 more than last year.
This year's appeal runs until December 22, so there is still plenty of time to get behind this great cause.
