One person has been arrested after a 28-year-old man was shot in the leg in Eastern Bay of Plenty yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Richard Miller said the incident happened in a rural area east of Ōpōtiki about 5pm.
The man was in a group of three or four people building a
pig trap when another man approached and allegedly fired on the group.

A 56-year-old local man was later arrested at a property on Hinahinanui Rd with the assistance of the Armed Offenders Squad.
