One dead, two seriously injured after two-car crash near Taupo

UPDATE:

Two people injured in a serious crash that killed one other are currently in Rotorua Hospital.

A hospital spokeswoman said one woman was in a stable condition and the other person was admitted but did not what any information released.

Both patients were admitted with serious injuries.

EARLIER:

A man is dead and two others have serious injuries after a car and a four-wheel-drive vehicle collided north of Taupo last night.

Police said the collision occurred on Broadlands Rd near the intersection with Whites Rd, about 20 kilometres north-east of Taupo, at 9.40pm. A man died at the scene.

Police, including the serious crash unit, were investigating and Broadlands Rd was closed between View and Ohaaki roads.
