One dead after car crash in Ruatahuna

One person has died after a van went over a bank in Ruatahuna.

Police received a call about the crash at 11.55 last night.

A police media statement said a woman died at the scene. The driver and four children, who were also in the van, were uninjured.

A helicopter was sent from Rotorua.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
