NZSale is reversing the trend of businesses falling victim to online shopping - with the popular online retail business opening a new Rotorua shop.
About six staff will be employed when the business opens in Tutanekai St at the end of the month. It has taken over the site previouslyoccupied by Wild South.
The shop, which is based on the successful website, will sell designer brands from around the world at a heavily discounted price. It sells a mix of men's, women's and children's clothing, cosmetics, handbags and homewear.
NZSale general manager Oliver Thewlas said following the success of the online store, the company was now concentrating on expanding the retail arm of the business.
"We saw [Rotorua] and think the town has a lot of potential. It ticks all the boxes."
Mr Thewlas said he "absolutely" saw Rotorua as a good place to do business and the company had had it "on the map for a while".
At the moment it had eight shops, mainly in Auckland.
He said NZSale was "going the other way" in expanding from online to bricks and mortar and it still believed there were a lot of people who wanted to try on clothing and see what they were buying.
