Time is running out to nominate your local heroes in the Pride of New Zealand Awards.
Hundreds of nominations have flooded in from Rotorua and all over the country, recognising deserving people in categories such as bravery, the environment, lifetime achievement and community spirit.
Nominations can be made until June15 at www.prideofnzawards.co.nz. The awards are supported by the Rotorua Daily Post and its sister papers across New Zealand, together with sponsors The New Zealand Herald, radio station The Hits, and TSB Bank.
Once entries close, shortlists will be drawn up in each category and regional finalists will be announced in four regions.
Regional prizegiving ceremonies will be held in early August in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Christchurch.
The categories are being judged by a panel of prominent Kiwis and, following the regional finals, our readers will also get to have a say through the TSB Bank's People's Choice Award. National category winners and the People's Choice winner will be announced at a ceremony in September.
