Public submissions are now open on the Ngati Tuwharetoa Claims Settlement Bill being considered by Parliament's Maori Affairs Committee.
The bill will give effect to the deed of settlement which was signed near Turangi in July by the Crown and Ngati Tuwharetoa.
The deed recorded the Crown's apology and agreed
to a final settlement of all historical Treaty of Waitangi claims of Ngati Tuwharetoa.
