EXPERIENCED: New Rotorua Crown Solicitor Amanda Gordon.

Rotorua's new Crown Solicitor is local prosecutor Amanda Gordon.

Ms Gordon was appointed to the position this week and officially took over the role from Fletcher Pilditch yesterday.

She is an experienced Crown prosecutor and a partner in Gordon Pilditch, a firm she established with Mr Pilditch eight years ago.

Before that she worked for six years as a prosecutor for then Rotorua Crown Solicitor John McDonald at Davys Burton.

Ms Gordon, who is originally from Gisborne, said she was pleased to be appointed as the new Crown Solicitor for Rotorua.

"I am looking forward to continuing to provide, along with the staff of Gordon Pilditch, the excellent service to the Crown that has been provided for the last eight years under Fletcher Pilditch."

Mr Pilditch said he was delighted but not surprised at Ms Gordon's appointment.

"Amanda and I formed this firm to support my role as Crown Solicitor and she has been an integral part of both the organisational and legal success of the firm.

"She and I have worked closely on many cases together and she will bring great legal knowledge, skill and judgment to the role.
