Dear readers,

In just 12 days the new-look Daily Post will hit the ground running.

The biggest change will see The Daily Post convert from an afternoon broadsheet newspaper to a morning compact.

But other big changes are also planned, including a revamp of the long-running Schools Page.

From March 11, the Schools Page will run in the paper each Thursday instead of Friday.

Rotorua schools are being asked to pull out their cameras and snap pictures of activities and outings.

School news and pictures celebrate what children are doing in our community, so the more the better.

It's as simple as emailing pictures or news to gary.hamilton-irvine@dailypost.co.nz, and I will feature them on the page.

Other changes to the page will see more information being published as a resource. This will include a who's who directory of school principals and other school representatives.

We will also begin a new profile piece on Rotorua principals - giving you an opportunity to learn more about the bigwigs behind the education of our children.

The Rising Stars piece will remain, which celebrates student excellence in sports, academic and cultural activities.

As your education reporter, I'm looking forward to bringing you this new-look page.
