"But we do have the quality in the team. We just need to trust one another and believe we can get a good result.
"It's going to be very tough. Sharks are always up there challenging at the top of the ladder but we will give it a good go and hopefully pull off a win."
Luke, who plays in the stand-off position added: "Recently we have had a good turn out at training and there has been a good structure which I want to see on the pitch.
"We are always looking to build and become stronger as a team, and we may not be where we want to be right now but with a good attitude and spirit hopefully we can turn this around."
Andrew and Luke have been affiliated with the club for eight years and said their relationship was stronger than ever despite the recent tough time for the first team.
"I have a very good relationship with Luke just as I do with my other younger sons who also play rugby in some form or another," said the manager.
"It's been great to be able to work closely with my son this season and see him develop and grow on the pitch."
Luke added: "For some people it wouldn't work having their dad managing but our whole family have grown up with rugby - it's what we do.
"It's a great partnership that we have and I think it makes us stronger when we have tough times with the side.
"But fingers crossed results will be on the up now and then me and dad can be discussing a good performance after the games."
Pacific Sharks go into the match with less game time as last Saturday's fixture against United was postponed due to ground closure.
And Ngongotaha will look to push up the table as they are level on points with eighth place United and just one behind Turangawaewae in seventh.
Going forward Luke is confident of a better performance in the second half of the season as several key players will be back from injury.
"Even though we lost last week there were some good improvements and we can keep stepping it up every week," he said.
"It will be a test for us, but that is the sign of a good team. There is also a great morale amongst us and that will be vital for our survival.
"We are a young team and as long as we keep wanting to learn and show up week in week out we will do well in the future."
Elsewhere, sixth place Pikiao Warriors take on fifth place Taupo Phoenix away and will look to build on their dramatic 28 all draw with Turangawaewae last weekend.
Coach Henry Lingman has targeted the defence as an area to improve and hopes weather conditions do not affect play once again.
"We had far too many dropped balls in our last game and it was the errors that cost us," he said.
"The ball and the players were slipping all over which didn't help but I don't want to see a repeat performance."
