It's been a mixed day of results for local teams in the Baywide club competition.

In the Baywide Premier both Whakarewarewa and Rotoiti fell to their first defeats of the season in first away games of each campaign.

Whaka were beaten 36-27 by Greerton at Greerton Park while Rotoiti lost 34-21 against Te Puna at Maramatanga Park.

Meanwhile in the opening games to the Division 1 season Marist St Michael's and Ngongotaha came out on top in the two Rotorua derby matches.

St Michael's narrowly beat Waikite 27-21 at Marist Park while Ngongotaha ran out 36-19 winners against Kahukura Kuirau Park.
