More than $6000 has been raised for a worthy cause at this year's Mitre 10 Mega Rotorua Ladies Night.

The annual event was held at the store on Wednesday.

The night included goodie bags, raffles, celebrity chefs Kasey and Karina Bird, an auction, more than 30 suppliers and the encore performance of Harcourts Dancing with the Stars couples.

The dance section was started by The Next Generation intermediate dance school group.

Mitre 10 Mega Rotorua store general manager Warren Rehu said there was great feedback from attendees and suppliers.

He thought more than $6000 at least was raised for Rotorua Hospice, which meant their goal was reached.

Rehu said it felt great to raise so much for hospice.

"We've got a lot of team members here that have had experience with hospice.

"It's great to be involved with a charity like that and give back knowing they have helped our team, especially in the last 12 months."

He said it was a great, sell-out night and he enjoyed performing a dance with his wife Sharon.

Since they had both danced in Harcourts Dancing with Stars they decided to do this dance for the fundraiser, while also using it as a 23rd wedding anniversary celebration.

"A big thank you to all the ladies that attended because their support enables us to support hospice and give back.

Rotorua Community Hospice fundraising and marketing manager Nicola Smallwood said it was a spectacular evening.

"It was so great to see more than 500 people from our local community come out to support Mitre 10 and Rotorua Hospice."

She said a highlight was seeing the excitement build in the crowd outside before the doors opened and the rush to pick up a goodie bag.

"It was also great to see the dancers get the opportunity to perform again and wow the crowd.

"We are truly blessed in this community – we are blown away by the support we receive."

Smallwood said Mitre 10 Mega Rotorua was incredible – "They spend months organising it and putting it all together".

"It's really down to them and then our wonderful community who buy all the tickets. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

She said the money raised from Ladies Night would help Rotorua Hospice to provide care and support for more than 420 patients each year.

Smallwood said hospice's service was completely free of charge and it relied on organisations like Mitre 10 to support it.
