Another big low is coming in and this will bring more big downpours, some squally with gusty winds. The low affects the entire country from Saturday PM to Monday PM. Next week looks settled for the South Island but yet another low is heading for the North Island with more subtropical rain and wind.
A mix of unseasonably mild temperatures and heavy rain will continue across most of New Zealand for the next few days.
A barrage of low pressure systems coming our way from the Tasman has been bringing the warmer weather, MetService forecaster Tom Adams said.
"There will be a fairbit of rain in Auckland and northern areas today and heavy showers will continue into Sunday," he said.
"There are still severe weather warnings in place for the eastern Bay of Plenty where the rivers are still quite swollen but in general temperatures will be fairly pleasant for this time of year."

Tauranga is set to be the warmest place in the country tomorrow, with temperatures hitting 18 degrees.
Auckland should reach 17 degrees and Wellington will be 16 degrees. Christchurch will be much cooler, at 12 degrees, due to a southerly.
"Places in the east will be drier on Sunday into Monday with most of the rainfall in the north and west," Adams said. "On Wednesday another low looks like coming from the Tasman bringing further rain and mild temperatures in the northern parts of the North island."
