A 45-year-old man is seriously injured after falling off a motorbike on a farm in the Kinleith forest.

The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was sent to the scene this afternoon.

Local ambulance crews and an on-board paramedic stabilised the local man for flight. The mission was carried out using Night Vision Goggles.

Earlier this afternoon the helicopter had transferred a seriously ill baby from Rotorua Hospital to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment. Due to the time critical nature the helicopter was the best mode of transport for mum and the baby.
