A man has pleaded not guilty to murdering his baby daughter in Turangi last year.

Donovan Michael Duff, 40, appeared via video link in the High Court at Rotorua this morning, where his lawyer Moana Dorset entered the plea.

Justice Sarah Katz remanded Duff in custody until August 16. The jury trial is set to begin on June 11 next year and expected to take two weeks.

Duff's daughter was 9 months old when she died in Turangi on March 12, 2016.
