Man killed after ride-on lawnmower incident

A Bay of Plenty man has died after being pinned by his ride-on lawnmower.

Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford said the 59-year-old man was found by neighbours at his Paengaroa home about 9.30pm yesterday.

The man was dead at the scene, he said.

Mr Clifford said it appeared the lawnmower had gone over the man, but the blades were not working and he was pinned underneath.
