A man has been injured after his tractor crashed down a bank on a Western Bay of Plenty property today.

Emergency services were called to an address on State Highway 33 near Paengaroa about 12.30pm.

The man has been taken to Tauranga Hospital.

A fire communications spokesman said firefighters used a Stokes Basket (a type of stretcher) to help retrieve the man, who had come off the tractor during the incident.

It was not clear how seriously injured the man was, he said.
