A 63-year-old man found critically injured on Ferry Rd in Taupo last month has died in Waikato Hospital.
The man was David West, who Bay of Plenty Police say was well known and liked in Taupo.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family."
Police said there was nothing to suggest that the circumstances of his death were suspicious, but they needed to try to piece together his movements in the 45 minutes before he was found with critical head injuries.
The last sighting of Mr West was on Wednesday, 27 May, at approximately 7.40pm in the vicinity of Ferry Rd and its Tongariro St intersection. He was found injured by a member of the public at 8.30pm.
