Mall shooting spree threat: Sentencing put off

Sentencing for a Rotorua man who posted on an online bulletin board that he had two firearms and was going to go on a shooting spree at a Westfield Mall has been put off.

The 27-year-old, who has been granted interim name suppression, was due to be sentenced in the Rotorua District Court yesterday after previously pleading guilty to a charge of threatening to kill.

However, sentencing was adjourned so a psychiatric report could be completed. He was due back in court on June 11.
