He ratonga whai mana a My Whenua mo nga rangatira o nga poka whenua Maori puta noa kei Aotearoa, kei ta wahi hoki e noho ana. Hei ta Jamie Tuuta, te tumu o Te Tumu Paeroa, ko te ito o te kaupapa he tuari korero ki nga kaipupuri whenua.

"Kare he ratonga i tua atu i tenei mo te whakamama ake ta nga mana whenua kimi korero mo o ratou whenua. He mea tuhono i nga rangatira o nga whenua ki o ratou whenua ahakoa kei hea ratou e noho ana. I toko ake te whakaaro, me whakawhanake ake te ara whakawhitiwhiti korero mai i te ao tawhito, ki te ao hou. Ehara i te mea he awhina i nga rangatira o te wa nei - engari he awhina i nga rangatira o apopo."

E whakamahia ketia ana te ratonga My Whenua e te tini o nga rangatira puta noa i te motu, me te aha, e rere ana nga mihi. Ko Phillip Albert no Kawerau tetahi.

"He rawe, ko nga meneti o nga hui ka whakairia ki te pumanawa, me nga take katoa e hangai ana ki oku whenua. Kare hoki au e mate ki te toro atu ki te paetukutuku Maori Land, na te mea kua whakawhaitihia nga korero katoa ki te wahi kotahi."

Te Tumu Paeroa, formerly the Maori Trustee, has launched the rollout of their new online information service, My Whenua.

My Whenua provides a transparent service for owners across Aotearoa and whanau who live abroad. Jamie Tuuta, head of Te Tumu Paeroa says that My Whenua is part of their commitment to keeping owners informed.

"With My Whenua we can provide owners with easier access to more information about their land than we have ever before. It enables owners to stay connected with their land no matter where they live. We have realised we needed to evolve with our communication from traditional ways of reaching people. Not only will My Whenua help the current owners - it also helps the next generation of landowners to be connected with their land", says Jamie.

With many owners already using the service My Whenua is getting great positive feedback. Philip Albert a landowner from Kawerau, sees its value.

"I think its magic, the minutes of meetings being held are available online and everything else that's going on with my land blocks. For me it also helps me from having to go to Maori Land online, everything's in one place", says Philip.

If you have land administered by Te Tumu Paeroa, make sure you provide them with your current email address so that you can get access to it as its rolled out - simply go to www.tetumupaeroa.co.nz and click "update your contact details".
