Members of the Maketu Kaimoana Seafood festival committee have firmed up their entertainment programme and food stalls as they count down to the big day.
As well as 60's and 70's rock star Shane, singer of the award winning 1969 hit "St Paul", and support act Shadz, entertainment includes popular acts B-Side Band, Mr Reuben,
Gunshy featuring Chris Gunn, Stave- Aotearoa and the winner of Maketu's
Got Talent.
A new drawcard this year is the House of Travel Mystery Spot Prize, the lucky spot will be
chosen by the sponsor.
The person in the right time and place at the Festival wins the mystery travel voucher.
Kaimoana -and other food includes a wide range of seafood dishes from our registered food vendors with seafood chowder, Thai food, mussels, oysters, whitebait, fresh fish and raw fish salad.
Fudge and chocolate, organic juices, ice cream, crepes, and spin spuds will also be on offer.
The Kaimoana Festival is Maketu Rotary's main fundraiser for the year, and Rotary have returned to the Maketu Sports Ground site to maintain their close links with the community.
The festival will go ahead rain or shine, and marquees will be provided for shelter from the weather.
Festival goers are able to bring their own shelter and chairs as well, although food and alcohol are not permitted.
Parking is alongside the venue, and security operates all day. Festival hours are from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday February 6.
