The rain didn't stop these locals (from left) Paul Laing, Pauline Roberts, Elisabeth Jackson, Steve Roberts, Samantha Bell and Shelley Fleming from getting into the Christmas spirit last night at the annual KidsCan Great New Zealand Santa Run.
Held at the Village Green at the Rotorua Lakefront, it was organised
by members of the Rotorua Association of Triathletes and Multisport (RATs). Before the event got under way, a moment's silence was held for biker Patrick Avery, who died suddenly at the age of 21 on Tuesday night.
The Santa run was started in 2008 by Lactic Turkey Events and has grown from an Auckland-only event to now take place at the same time in many of New Zealand's main centres.
All the money raised goes to KidsCan, which aims to make sure all Kiwi kids affected by poverty can look forward to a brighter future.
