Recently I was taken to the biggest laugh and time of enjoyment that I've had for quite a while. The crowd was expectant of fun and they sure got it. The excitement built as they waited, the chatter was enormous, the behaviour impeccable and the laughter a joy to listen to. As the programme continued the crowd participation was wonderful to hear. By and large our young children were well-behaved.

Where were we? At the Girls High hall, where Boys High had joined them to put on a musical. What a show. Our young people have got such talent. As the story evolved we got so many laughs. Good value, excellent production and our children had a great time. Well done to both schools and well done to the producers. Better than taking pep pills.

We consumers are constantly being criticised for the amount of plastic material abounding.

We probably have it in our power to control our use of plastic bags acquired during shopping, but there is a lot of plastic arriving in my letter-box.

Magazines ordered sport sheer plastic covers, food items on the shelves are plastic covered - the list is endless.

I suggest manufacturers should take much of the responsibility for the amount of plastic material accumulating in our landfill.
