I don't know about you but I would suggest there are thousands of people out there who are, like me, thoroughly upset with the cheeky people who think they are being clever by crossing borders without permission, even if they are not Covid positive.

I really think it is time to identify them and maybe give them some jail time. Like 14 days in lockdown at a suitable site and photos and names in the press.

Make it widely known that these acts have consequences and there are no outs.

In my view, it's gone past the point with behaviour that directly contradicts what is required of us all.

Wishes to be respected

Okay, you people who do not want to be vaccinated. I will respect your wishes - if you respect mine.

I have had the vaccination, so has my wife and pretty near all my friends, so here's the deal.

My wife and I go to various shops in Rotorua, belong to various groups and meet with friends, so I will, if required, give you a list of places I visit. You will, in return for me respecting your wishes, stay away from all the places I visit and from all my friends who are vaccinated.

There, now, you may or may not catch Covid-19 but since you stay away from me and mine I won't.

This will probably mean you staying within your own four walls but that is fine, your choice, whereas my wife and I - who have been vaccinated, are reasonably safe that we will not become contaminated.

Does this sound like a fair deal? It is, after all, what you appear to want.
