Letters to the editor: Shaming shoplifters might make them think twice

Re "'Archaic': Local business owner slams shoplifter 'shaming'." I disagree.

Many businesses are losing thousands of dollars, hence the great idea of displaying photos of the offenders.

If this is "shaming" these people then obviously they might think twice about doing it again or going into another business and stealing, which it is, from other premises.

If they don't want to see their photos or videos of themselves displayed everywhere, then try actually buying the goods instead of taking part of another person's livelihood away from them.

Shoplifting is theft and that is exactly what these people are doing.

If you can't afford it, try getting a job and do the right thing such as paying for it.
