Let's see it all
Roll on the release of the annual, independently conducted Consumer Satisfaction Survey of the council's performance.
Let's hope it is released when received, not several months later like last year when in my opinion it was conveniently withheld till after the elections.
The council's acting chief executive Craig Tiriana uses terms such as releasing it at the "appropriate time" and "working on issues highlighted in the report".
A report is a report and can't be changed unless by the authors, so working on the issues wouldn't have affected its content.
Tiriana has stated that this year's questions have been "refined for current purposes", which in my opinion could lead to suspicion.
We're also told that the report, when it arrives, will be analysed "for our reporting purposes". Does this mean only the positive comment will be reported?
Why can't we see all the questions - after all, the 400 people surveyed know them? And why can't we see the report verbatim as written by the professional analysts when it is released, so that we can draw our own conclusions?
