I write in support of Jocelyn Greene's letter of June 9 on wasteful spending by Rororua Lakes Council.

In particular on Tatou Tatou which is not a literary or scientific gem to be passed down through the generations.

It is an information leaflet about council, written in public relations speak. After a week or two it is discarded and sent to be recycled. It should not be such an expensive publication.

As council debt inexorably rises, together with increasing interest payments the council should be saving every dollar to reduce debt.

How council will cope with the predicted rise in interest costs is a considerable worry for our ratepayers and residents.
