What an amazing event the recent Secondary Schools Kapa Haka competition was.
Incredible singing, dance, choreography, timing and passion. Obviously the results of hours of training and commitment. Well done Te Arawa youth - you can be justifiably proud of your accomplishments. We found it thrilling and moving. Whata shame that Pakeha and tourists were almost completely absent. A wonderful occasion missed. Maybe next time better advertising will encourage more to attend.

I take my hat off to Merepeka Raukawa-Tait (Opinion, July 7) for being so straight concerning our right as human beings to think for ourselves.
Yes, enough is enough! Let us join hands and stand up for what we believe in. Who are MPI to take away our right to use our brain? What's next ... raw fish!
Come on MPI ... wake up from your slumber, throw off the cotton wool and start living as God intended us to. Even He, our Creator gave us a choice.
What kind of philistine would object to State money being used to rebuild the ChristChurch Cathedral? New Zealand has precious little built heritage and what little we have we should preserve.
