It's horrific that Aucklander Bob Harvey should be seen as relevant to Rotorua's lakeside planning (Rotorua Lakefront's $58 million development up for consultation in council's Long Term Plan, Saturday March 18).

The communities are totally different and it would surely be an abomination to consider a Viaduct-like development here.

Wake up council. Melbourne's Dockside stupidly copied Sydney's Darling Harbour and proved a complete white elephant. Council, consult your local community.

Too much wastage

It's essential to Rotorua to fix and future-proof the Bath House.

Thirty-two million dollars would be affordable if our money had not already been wasted on nonsense.

I don't have to list the wastage I'm sure.

What about international flights?

So we now have extra flights to Wellington. Good news for many business people but we spent lots of money on an international airport so how about getting some International flights?

We have a huge number of visitors most arriving by bus. How great would it be to have locals flying in and out through Rotorua Airport from other countries.

Rotorua is booming.

We had Rotorua/Sydney, so how about Rotorua/Melbourne.
