Then there were three.
Ngongotaha have been knocked out of the Bay of Plenty District premier playoffs after losing to Taupo 22-12 in Rotorua on Saturday.
That means only three clubs remain in the playoffs: Taupo, Pacific and Pikiao.
Taupo have advanced to the preliminary final against Pacific (Tokoroa) this weekend.
Pacific and Pikiao went toe-to-toe at the weekend in the major semifinal, with the winner guaranteed a spot in the grand final on August 17.
The two competition rivals fought out a close match with Pikiao upsetting Pacific 30-24 in Tokoroa.
Pikiao will now have a weekend off as they wait to find out who they play in the final.
In the reserve grade playoffs, minor premiers Reporoa have been defeated by Pacific Reserves 44-20. Reporoa will meet Pikiao Seniors this weekend in the preliminary final.
Pikiao Seniors knocked out fellow club-mates Pikiao Reserves in the minor semifinal on Saturday, 46-12.
