The Penrith Panthers won't announce a line-up for Saturday's clash with the Warriors until the night before the match, their manager says.
The Sydney team touch down in Rotorua today to prepare for this weekend's NRL trial game, but Jason Wrigley is keeping tight-lipped on player selection before a finaltraining session tomorrow.
Aside from keeping fans and pundits guessing, the decision suggests a major difference between the two teams' preparations.
On Tuesday, the Warriors' head coach Andrew McFadden made a statement of intent by announcing a side full of first-graders for Saturday's match.
But Wrigley is happy that his team's preparations for the game are going according to plan.
"Absolutely we're feeling confident. This is the combination of a lot of work going in - there are only two trials before the season starts, so it's important to get off on the right foot," he said.
In between final training sessions, four Panthers players - Jamal Idris, Sam McKendry, Adam Docker and Josh Mansour - will visit Rotorua's night market this evening.
Of those four, there's no question over one selection issue - winger Mansour is still out of action after undergoing shoulder and ankle surgery last year, and is doubtful for the start of the season next month.
