The Labour Party has today released a comprehensive housing map, featuring information on how the housing crisis is affecting Rotorua, and other local communities.
The interactive map includes house prices, rent increases, homeownership rates, state house waiting lists and the number of empty state houses.

getting harder to afford a home in Rotorua - The average price has risen 20.2 per cent, going from $273,000 to $328,000 in the last year. This is one of the biggest increases in the country.
* In the Bay of Plenty rents rose 9.5 per cent in the last year with the average rent price now sitting at $355. At the same time, incomes rose only 6.3 per cent.
* 408 houses have no heating
