Labour leaders want your questions

The new "power couple" of the New Zealand Labour Party, leader Andrew Little and newly-appointed deputy leader Jacinda Ardern, are heading to Rotorua next month and want to know what you think about what's happening in the region.

They are about to "honeymoon" in Rotorua and have announced they will hold a free public question and answer session at Hennessy's Irish Bar on Tutanekai St on Thursday, April 20 from 5.30pm.

The interactive evening will feature a special introduction by Ms Ardern, before Mr Little talks about the state of Rotorua, his motivation, as well as his vision of how the party plans to "rebuild the Kiwi dream" after September's general election.

They will be joined by Labour candidate for Rotorua Ben Sandford and Waiariki candidate Tamati Coffey.

"It will be fantastic to have Andrew Little and Jacinda Arden live in Rotorua," Mr Sandford said.

"This gives everyone a chance to talk with the high-profile pair, local candidates and our team about how Labour will work to make positive changes in our city and invest in the future of our fantastic region."

During the day the pair will tour the city and meet with locals and businesses with Mr Coffey saying the event, timed to coincide with the popular Thursday night markets, will highlight how vibrant the Rotorua community is.

"This face-to-face meeting shows Labour is prepared to front up to the people of Rotorua with actual solutions and hear our point of view," Mr Coffey said.

"People are going to want to hear what they have to say. I'm looking forward to it."
