Rotorua Daily Post reporter Kyra Dawson is taking part in the Dancing with the Rotorua stars fundraiser. Here's her latest diary entry.

After being so productive last week with the new shoes and even conducting our own extra practices, Brent and I are off to a bit of a rocky start this week.

I got a call on Sunday night followed by a nasty photo, Brent broke his toe!

He walked into a damn couch and his toe bent into a right angle, he said he pushed back into place and that he'd be sweet as. It's a black/purplish colour.

Well it's safe to say we didn't have a practice last night but he assures me he will be fine for next week, but I must say I'm feeling a little bit nervous now. We are 14 weeks out!

In saying that we had an awesome practice in the Volcanic Hills Winery on Thursday last week, we picked our music, nailed our first 30 seconds and even started on the rest. I'm trying to focus on the positives.

So because I don't have as much gossip this week I'll leave you with the ticket details:

Gold Dinner Package: $105 per ticket. These tickets include a three course alternate drop dinner with limited wine and beer. A private table of ten costs $950 (offering a discount of $100).

Silver Platter Package: $70 per ticket. Situated behind the Gold Dinner tables, the Silver
Platter Table tickets include shared cold and warm savouries and dessert platters. A private table of ten costs $650 (offering a discount of $50).

Tickets for these will go on sale to the general public Monday May 23 2016. Ticket sales for Reserved Terrace Seating (ticket only) will be available through Ticketmaster from Monday May 30 2016. The cost is $35 per ticket. No door sales will be available on the night.

Don't forget all the money from the event goes to Rotorua Hospice, if you would like to donate head to www.givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/kyradawsondwrs.
