Kolohe Kai concert-goers will be treated to a live performance of the song Feel Alright by Tomorrow People and Kolohe Kai at tomorrow night's Rotorua concert.
Hawaiian reggae bands Kolohe Kai and Rebel Souljahz will perform at Rotorua's Energy Events Centre as part of a four-concert New Zealand tour. Between August
4 and 7 they would perform in Christchurch, Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland.
Kolohe Kai, featuring Roman De Peralta (lead vocalist, acoustic guitar), Noah (ukulele), Ryan (sax, backing vocals), Jordan (electric guitar, backing vocals), Warren (bass), Luke (drums) and Ko (keyboards), has dominated radio airwaves with songs such as Cool Down, Ehu Girl, Lover Girl and other tracks inspired by the sun, surf and lifestyle in Hawaii.
The five-and-a-half-hour Rotorua concert will feature the two groups plus Kiwi reggae bands Sons of Zion and NRG Rising. Other centres will have different support acts.
However, tour promoter Ara Adams-Tamatea said audience members would also get a bonus surprise when Tomorrow People get on stage with Kolohe Kai to perform their collaboration Feel Alright.
Mr Adams-Tamatea said the first 100 at the venue would also receive free T-shirts. He said tickets for the Rotorua show were selling well with the most tickets sold in Auckland, Taranaki, Napier and Hamilton.
Mr Adams-Tamatea said people who attend the show could "expect one hell of a good night".
He said it was typical for Rotorua residents to buy tickets for concerts at the last minute but said residents who did that may miss out. However, he said tickets were still available. He was expecting a last-minute rush on tickets.
Meanwhile, the Porirua concert had to be relocated to Wellington city because of the lack of ticket sales.
- Tickets: $67.50 each. Tickets are available from the venue or www.reggaebynature.com/RotoruaTickets.
