Over 30 children graduated from the Rotorua BMX Club fundamentals training course last night.

After six weeks of learning new skills including balancing, pumping, braking, peddling and cornering these children had their last class with NZ Elite BMX riders Daniel Franks and Hannah Sarten at the Rotorua BMX track on Te Ngae Rd.

Franks and Sarten spent time with the riders on the track then handed out their graduation certificates, as well as signed posters of the BMX Elite Racing team.

Many of the children have indicated they will continue with BMX and keep coming to the track to enjoy the fun atmosphere and chance to ride.

President Melanie Short said "that's what it's all about - more kids on bikes, learning great skills and having fun!"

The next fundamentals training course will be at the start of the first term in 2016.
