The second day of Te Arawa Kapa Haka Whakataetae a-Rohe is underway and bigger crowds are building as the top teams take the stage.

Reigning champions Te Matarae i Orehu will be taking the stage at 2.30pm.

Head down to the Rotorua Energy Events Centre to catch the remaining groups in action and hang around for the prize giving at 6.30pm to see who will make it through to this year's nationals.

This year's Te Arawa competition is in honour of the memory of the late Mauriora Kingi, who was the Rotorua Lakes Council kaupapa Maori director and respected kaumatua.
